There are several ways to volunteer at the Piedmont Triad Office in Winston-Salem.
Catholic Charities Volunteer Ambassadors
We are forming teams of volunteers who are comfortable speaking to people about who we are and what we do. These teams would attend various local parish events and represent Catholic Charities for the purpose of educating the community about our mission and services. Organizing the food pantry - Sort and organize food on shelves. Flexible schedule.
Parking lot management - Help manage the parking lot and flow of people. Requires outside work in all weather. Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Client interviews - Meet with clients face-to-face and process food requests on Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Food collection - Work within the community to organize food drives and arrange collection. Flexible schedule.
Packers - Pack food for distribution. Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Shoppers - We provide the funds and the list. Your provide the effort and time to shop for the food pantry. Flexible schedule.
Office Support - Meet and greet visitors and answer phones. Clerical work. Especially need bilingual volunteer. Flexible schedule between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
Mailings - Work on special mailings that occur several times per year. Flexible schedule.
Wee Care Shoppe
Reception - Meet and greet clients. Especially need bilingual volunteers! Thursday mornings or Tuesday afternoons.
Intake - Meet with clients face-to-face and help them "shop". Thursday morning or Tuesday afternoons.
Our elder ministry programs hold day long events such as the Spring Fling and Days of Reflection. These are held at various locations throughout the Diocese. Volunteers are needed for the event planning committee, administrative tasks (like mailings, folding the programs, arranging the name tags), event setup, check-in, food prep and cleanup, etc.
