Mental Health Counseling

Catholic Charities provides professional adult mental health services in four locations throughout western North Carolina. Individual, couples/family, and group therapy (in some locations) are provided in Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and Asheville. Bilingual counseling is offered in our Asheville location. Services are offered by appointment only.

All mental health counseling staff possess a master’s degree in either psychology, counseling, or social work and are licensed to provide behavioral health care in North Carolina.

Mental Health counselors:

  • Meet each individual where they are on their personal journey and help them address their challenges on a cognitive, emotional, and behavioral level.
  • Operate within the social teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Provide professional, evidence-based therapeutic interventions that are effective in treating behavioral health problems ranging from relationship stress and adjustment problems to acute mental illnesses.

Sliding Fee Scale

Services are provided on a “sliding fee scale” based on family or individual income. These fees and health insurance coverage, when possible, help cover program expenses.
