Employment Services

Catholic Charities Employment Services guides adult refugees, asylees, and other qualified immigrants to self-sufficiency through job-readiness counseling, referral services, job placement, and ongoing post-placement support and counseling.

Upon arrival, refugees receive an orientation to the local work environment. It includes an education, training, and work experience assessment, and an Employability Plan is developed for each new arrival.

Catholic Charities Employment Services collaborates closely with employers in the Charlotte Metropolitan area. Extensive connections have been established with numerous businesses across the Charlotte Region, and dedicated efforts are made to align the most suitable candidates with employers while offering continuous support to ensure job retention.

Additionally, Catholic Charities provides cultural orientation training for employers seeking to enhance their understanding of their new employees’ backgrounds. Newcomers actively engage in employment orientation workshops and job skills training to equip them for success in the American workforce. Pre-employment workshops cover topics specific to the United States, such as job searching, the application process, interview techniques, and American workplace culture.
